Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving with Ross Family Dentistry:

Dr. Ross

Everyone here at Ross Family Dentistry experienced something new this Thanksgiving! Dr. Ross hosted Thanksgiving at her new home. She had thirteen family members over and made two twenty pound turkeys! This was the first time Dr. Ross has ever hosted Thanksgiving and cooked the meal! Dr. Ross and her family  then celebrated the holiday by playing board games, eating, talking and laughing, and eating even more yummy food. Dr. Ross’ favorite Thanksgiving dish is bread (especially her Oma’s German recipe!). Her least favorite Thanksgiving meal is a left-over turkey sandwich with mayo and pumpkin pie! ( Actually, the first sandwich isn’t too bad, but enough is enough already!  Whose idea was it to cook two turkeys this year anyway? Ha!)

Kathleen

This year Kathleen, our Dental Receptionist at Ross Family Dentistry, hosted Thanksgiving. She had 11 people over including Sandy, our Dental Assistant here at Ross Family Dentistry, and her family.  Natalie, our other Dental Assistant here at Ross Family Dentistry, joined them as well. Kathleen made two 17 ½ pound turkeys for this feast! She also made:               . Kathleen tried a few new recipes this year and they turned out AMAZING! Kathleen’s favorite Thanksgiving meal is Turkey Sandwich with stuffing on top. Her least favorite meal is yams.

Megan

This year Megan, our Dental Hygienist at Ross Family Dentistry, had Thanksgiving with her family. Megan’s new experience this year is being pregnant with her first child!! Megan’s favorite Thanksgiving meal is mashed potatoes and gravy. Her least favorite is pecan pie.

Sandy

This year Sandy, our Dental Assistant, her three children, and husband went over to Kathleen’s house for Thanksgiving. Sandy made a ham, pumpkin pie, and green bean casserole for the big feast. It was so nice to be with family and friends. Her son was home from his first year at college and they spent time catching up. Sandy is from Florida and usually spends Thanksgiving by having her in-laws, parents, and grandparents all over for a day of cooking, board games, and let’s not forget…..Football!  Sandy’s favorite Thanksgiving meal is green bean casserole. Her least favorite is creamed onions, which her mom insists they serve! Anything for family!!

Natalie

This year Natalie, our Dental Assistant, went to Kathleen’s as well. Natalie made sweet potato casserole for the big feast. This was the first year she has made it, but with the help of Pinterest, it turned out just fine. Natalie is from Iowa, so for traditional Thanksgivings there, she spends the day at her father’s, then goes to her in-laws for dinner where they have turkey, duck, and all of the trimmings before watching National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. On Fridays, she usually goes Black Friday shopping with her mom and sister. Natalie’s favorite Thanksgiving meal is stuffing and pumpkin pie. Her least favorite is cranberries.

We also asked our patients what they would be doing over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Many of our amazing Dental patients are spending time with family. Some are even participating in the Loveland Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving day! All of the proceeds from the Turkey Trot profit Heart Safe City Initiative. What an awesome event! One of the things we are most thankful for here at Ross Family Dentistry is being part of such an amazing community we have here in Loveland, CO!!

Dr. Ross also made sure that our current Dental patients know what to do if they have a Dental Emergency over this holiday. Dental Emergencies are never fun, and sometimes they do happen during major holidays. So if you crack your tooth on a turkey bone, don’t just hope that you get the bigger part of the wish bone! Make sure you call your favorite Dentist in Loveland, Dr. Ross! We have an emergency line that we check periodically over the weekend. If your Dental Emergency turns into swelling, make sure you go to your local ER, and then call us! Dental Emergencies can be very dangerous especially when there is swelling present. Please make sure you and your teeth stay healthy! It’s definitely something to be thankful for, not only during this season, but all year long!
